Crash Closes I-80 Lanes Near Altoona - Issued 11:11 AM

A single-vehicle crash has closed the two left westbound lanes of Interstate 80, leaving only the right open, between Altoona and Des Moines.  The crash, at mile marker 139, has caused traffic to back up several miles already, and motorists should avoid the area wherever possible and use an alternate route.  It is unknown how long the lanes will remain closed, however traffic in that area is likely to be stalled for some time.
